The condition of caves, huts and passes changes with time, and while we try to keep this information up to date, it requires a lot of good, old-fashioned foot-slogging to do so!  The condition of caves may be affected by smugglers' routes and veld fires, and that of huts depends almost as much on the impact of adverse weather, veld fires and lightning as it does on vandalism.
